Chinese car brands are taking the UK by storm and they're all competing for your business. Since our deal launched in February, 5 of our own LO team members have ordered the all electric Deepal S07 and it's not hard to see why.
The S07 keeps things refreshingly simple by offering only one trim level, no confusing line-up, no working out whether you need to stretch to the next spec up, and no feeling like the “entry model” is missing the good stuff. Instead, every customer gets a seriously well-equipped SUV with a premium feel, plenty of tech, and a price point that still feels reasonable.
In this guide, we’ll break down the key features of the Ultra trim, highlight what makes the S07 stand out, and help you decide whether this all-electric SUV could be the right fit for you.

Exterior Features
We’ll start by saying the design of the S07 is impressive, it’s designed to turn heads and really does have a commanding presence. It comes in 5 colours, Sunset Orange (a popular choice), Comet White, Eclipse Black, Lunar Grey and Nebula Green.
The S07 comes with 20” diamond cut alloys, panoramic sunroof (doesn’t open), electric flush door handles, heated side door mirrors that auto-fold, electric boot opening, the windows auto-close when it rains, auto-defogging system on the windshield, laminated glazing on the front windows and a spoiler with a high level brake light. You can add an Electric Smart Tow Bar with 13-pin for an additional cost.
Interior Features
The interior is just as impressive as the exterior, it’s designed to feel open and relaxing with lots of legroom and spacious seating. The vegan leather upholstery is offered in three colours; Orange, White and Black. Orange and White have proven popular and are currently marked as low stock on the Changan website so you might struggle to get your hands on it.
Features on the inside of the vehicle include a vegan leather heated steering wheel, Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel (it just moves up and down/closer to you for comfort and safety), 15.6 inch rotating touchscreen infotainment, lumbar supported heated and ventilated front seats, large center console with opening storage and 2x cup holders, driver seat memory, rear center armrest, 60:40 foldable rear seats, dual zone aircon with an air filtering system, the rear seats have their own touch-screen control for their aircon. The interior also has wooden touches throughout elevating the look and feel of the cabin.
Technology and Comfort Features
Changan's 'Intelligent Cabin’ includes 4 driving modes (ECO, Comfort, Sport and Custom), an augmented reality head up display, 14 speakers including a drivers headrest speaker - these are great for taking calls on drives, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, dynamic ambient lighting, wireless charging, gesture recognition allows you to answer calls, change songs or mute the car with the movement of your hand. Keyless entry and walk-away. It takes some getting used to but to lock the car you simply walk away.
The MyChangan app adds a lot of day-to-day convenience and makes living with the car feel a lot more premium. The biggest win is remote control. From your phone, you can lock or unlock the car, open or close the windows, open the boot, and even flash the lights or sound the horn perfect for when we all inevitably get lost IKEA’s carpark.
You can turn the air conditioning on before you get in, adjust the cabin temperature, even control the heated seats, seat ventilation, and heated steering wheel. On a freezing morning or a hot summer afternoon, that’s the kind of feature that really makes your day.
You can also check the battery percentage and remaining range, set a charging limit, and schedule charging for cheaper off-peak hours.
Vehicle Performance
The all-electric Deepal S07 offers 295 miles of WLTP range. Combining a 79.97kWh NCM lithium battery with a rear-wheel drive powertrain, the motor produces 160kW and 320Nm of torque. It does 0–62mph in 7.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 112mph.
Charging is equally competitive, with up to 11kW AC charging and the ability to charge from 30–80% in just 35 minutes using DC rapid charging. It also features a smart regenerative braking system, a heat pump, 6kW Vehicle-to-Load capability, and a 1,500kg towing capacity, giving it a strong balance of performance, efficiency and everyday practicality.
Safety
The Deepal S07 comes packed with a safety kit, combining a full suite of airbags including front, side, curtain and even a far side airbag, with a long list of driver assistance features as standard. Highlights include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic braking and driver fatigue monitoring. What really helps it stand out are features like child and pet presence detection, a 360° dash camera, and a 360° camera with transparent chassis, giving it a more high-tech edge than many rivals.
It was awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP rating in 2024, which is the best score available. In Euro NCAP’s 2024 assessment, it achieved 95% for Adult Occupant Protection, 87% for Child Occupant Protection, 74% for Vulnerable Road Users, and 77% for Safety Assist. Euro NCAP also noted good protection in crash tests and highlighted the car’s far-side airbag countermeasure, which helps reduce occupant-to-occupant injury in a side impact.

It’s easy to see why the S07 has become a hit in the office. When we got a demo vehicle for the team to test, everyone was so impressed that several immediately opted to lease one. That doesn't happen often, last time a car was so popular the car park was filled with Cupra Terramars. The biggest selling point is that theres only one trim and you're getting a car that feels luxury, comfortable and is jam-packed with tech. You're getting alot of car for your money.
