Volvo Recalls 170,000 Cars Across the UK

Volvo has issued a recall almost 170,000 cars across the UK over fears of a seatbelt fault.

The largest recall in Volvo’s history is a result of what’s being described as an ‘extremely rare’ seatbelt fault.

The issue impacts the front seat locking mechanism where under certain situations the fastening cable can suffer reduced strength.

Models affect the following models that were built between 2006 and 2018:

  • S60
  • S60 Cross Country
  • V60
  • V60 Cross Country

A statement issued by the manufacturer stated the recall was a precautionary measure and that the issue is ‘extremely rare’. No accidents or injuries have been reported so far as a result of the issue.
