A new, free app available to drivers allows them to receive up to 80% off parking charges if used to reserve a space in London. The ParkAround London app can run on both Android and iOS devices and allows users to navigate across the capital and reserve a parking spot in no more than ten seconds.
The locations covered by the app include Angel, Barbican, Holborn, Leicester Square, Marble Arch, Marylebone, Old Street, Paddington, South Kensington, Tottenham Court Road, Swiss Cottage and Waterloo.
Drivers simply need to choose their destination, enter the time they require the space and search through a list of available spots. The application provides information on how much the driver will have to pay whilst giving them an overview of the parking spaces available at their chosen location.
The app also offers drivers optional navigation instructions to their reserved spot.
The ParkAround London app could be one solution to managing London's carbon and congestion levels and reducing fuel usage, whilst making the capital less stressful for drivers by removing cars from the road as soon as possible.
According to John Katsiotis, CEO of ParkAround London, drivers should be on the lookout for updates and new features in the app, including an improved cost calculator, support for multiple vehicles, optimised in-car usage and a smarter search.
The app does not require drivers to pay for their parking spot in advance and allows them to reserve a space as late as ten minutes before arriving at the destination.
