Top 5 Things We Love About the Omoda 5 Hybrid
We pick five things we loved about the Omoda 5 Hybrid, from its diamond-pattern grille to its surprisingly easy driving experience.
We've recently been spending some time with the Omoda 5 Hybrid, and while there's plenty to talk about with this compact SUV, five features in particular caught our attention.
From distinctive styling to clever interior details and a surprisingly manageable driving experience, here are our Top 5 Things about the Omoda 5 Hybrid.
1. The diamond-pattern grille
First up, we have to talk about the front grille.
The petrol, hybrid and electric versions of the Omoda 5 all have different front-end designs, but the Hybrid's body-coloured diamond-pattern grille is easily our favourite.
It's a distinctive design that gives the front of the car plenty of personality and helps it stand out from the other versions in the range.
2. The full-width rear light bar
Next is something we're usually big fans of: a full-width rear light bar.
The Omoda 5 Hybrid uses this design to give the rear of the car a more premium appearance, particularly at night.
It's a relatively simple styling feature, but it makes a noticeable difference and gives the car a distinctive look from behind.
3. The clean centre console
Our third favourite feature might sound a little unusual, but it's one we can definitely appreciate.
The Omoda 5 Hybrid has a clean-looking centre console, including cupholders that can be covered when they're not in use.
Let's face it, cupholders tend to collect dust, crumbs and everything else you somehow manage to spill in a car.
Being able to cover them up helps keep the cabin looking neat and tidy, even if you're not particularly enthusiastic about cleaning them.
Sometimes the smallest features are the most satisfying.
4. The Sony sound system
Next up is the audio system.
Remember when getting better speakers in your car meant paying extra for an expensive upgrade package?
With the Omoda 5 Noble, you get a crisp Sony sound system as standard.
It's a welcome feature that adds to the overall experience without needing to spend more on optional equipment.
For anyone who spends plenty of time listening to music or podcasts in the car, it's a nice addition.
5. The size and driving experience
Finally, there's something that genuinely surprised us about the Omoda 5 Hybrid: how it manages to feel like a much bigger SUV without being difficult to drive.
From the outside, it has the road presence of something considerably larger.
However, once you're behind the wheel, it's surprisingly easy to manoeuvre.
That gives you the big-car feeling without some of the inconvenience that can come with driving a much larger vehicle.
It's a combination we really appreciated during our time with the car.
