Top 5 Things We Love About the Leapmotor B10
From its customisable infotainment to a clever movable driver display, we pick five things we loved about the Leapmotor B10.
We've been test-driving the Leapmotor B10, and while its affordable price is likely to grab plenty of attention, there are some smaller details that particularly impressed us.
From clever technology to surprisingly good passenger space, here are our Top 5 Things about the Leapmotor B10.
1. The infotainment home screen
First up is the B10's infotainment home screen.
The large display itself is impressive, but it's the presentation that caught our attention. There's a 3D model of the B10 that gives the system a surprisingly premium look and feel.
You can also customise the background with things like rainbows and birds.
Does it really need to do that? Probably not. Do we like the fact that it does? Absolutely.
2. The light interior and panoramic roof
Next is a combination rather than one individual feature.
Our B10 paired the light eco-leather upholstery with the panoramic roof, and together they make the cabin feel incredibly bright and airy.
More importantly, choosing the lighter interior doesn't cost any extra, so you don't need to pay more to get the look.
The B10 isn't a massive SUV, but this combination helps make the cabin feel considerably bigger than it actually is.
3. The rear-seat space
That feeling of space isn't just an illusion either.
For a relatively compact SUV, we were surprised by how much room there is for passengers in the back.
With the driver's seat set to our normal driving position, there was still plenty of legroom behind it. If you're regularly carrying adults in the rear, that's a genuinely useful advantage.
4. The rear light design
Number four is a much smaller detail: the rear lights.
Particularly from a distance and at night, there's something almost Porsche-like about the way the B10 looks from behind.
We're not suggesting anyone is going to mistake the two up close, but on an electric SUV costing under £32,000, little design details like this help the B10 look and feel more expensive than its price might suggest.
5. The movable driver display
Finally, there's a clever piece of interior design that solves a problem you'll find in plenty of other cars.
The B10's driver display is mounted to the steering column. That means when you adjust the steering wheel, the screen moves with it.
It's a simple idea, but it allows you to find a comfortable driving position without discovering that the steering wheel is now blocking part of the display.
It's exactly the kind of small, practical detail that makes you wonder why more manufacturers don't do the same thing.
Those are our five favourites, but what feature would make your list?
