Citroen simplifies C3 range to three core models22 August 2019
With sales of more than 42,000 units since its UK launch in January 2017, Citroen has announced trim line updates to its C3 range.
Citroen’s C3 supermini has become the brand’s best-selling model in the UK and to build on that success, Citroen UK has simplified its C3 range effective from October production, placing greater emphasis on the more popular upper trim levels.
The range-entry Touch trim level will be discontinued from the UK range, as will the Feel Nav. Previous Flair and Flair Nav versions will be replaced with one well-appointed Flair Plus model. These changes mean the number of trim levels in the range will be halved from six to three. The resulting three trims will be Feel, Origins and Flair Plus.
Feel becomes the new range-entry point for the Citroen C3 and comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, MirrorScreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, lane departure warning, automatic air-conditioning, seven-inch colour touchscreen and a choice of four roof and body colours.
Walking up the range, the C3 Origins offers a black bi-tone roof, Airbump panels and a bespoke interior ambiance. It will also feature an exclusive Origins exterior colour pack, accented with bronze highlights and graphics inside and out.
The C3 Origins also offers Citroen’s Connect Box emergency and assistance telematics system, active safety brake, intelligent beam headlights, rear parking sensors and Citroen’s Connect Nav, all as standard. The Connect Nav includes a three-year subscription to TomTom Live, which provides real time traffic updates via an integrated on-board sim card.
Since its UK launch, 62 per cent of C3 sales have been for the top two Flair and Flair Nav trim levels, but from October 2019, both trim levels will be replaced by a new Flair Plus trim, featuring Citroen’s integrated camera system, ‘Citroen Connect Nav’, leather steering wheel, colour reversing camera, dark tinted rear windows and red interior ambience.
October will also see the introduction of a host of technical changes, including a more efficient alternator, an air inlet shutter, a variety of underbody panels to reduce drag and new low rolling resistance tyres.
The updated Citroen C3 range is available to order now, with first deliveries expected from late October 2019.
