2021 Ford Bronco
17 July 2020After more than 24 years after ceasing production, Ford has brought the Bronco name back. This will be the 6th generation of the Bronco and it's back with a bang, and ready to go head to head with Jeep's Wrangler.
The styling is very new-age adventure SUV, following the same trends as the New Land Rover Defender and Jeeps Wrangler. Available in 2 doors and 4 door body styles with 295mm of ground clearance and impressive departure and break-over angles and it can also wade to a depth of 851mm, 35-inch tyres and deadlock wheels, it’s a serious piece of go-anywhere kit.
There is no big American V8 powering this generation of Bronco, instead, it comes with a choice of 4-cylinder turbo or V6 turbo petrol. The 270hp 4 cylinder has 310lb ft of torque and available with either a 7-speed manual or 10 speed automatic, the manual option comes with 6 regular ratioed gears and a short crawler gear for trail and off-road activities.
The second engine option, a 2.7-litre V6 producing 310bhp and 400lb ft of torque is only available with the 10-speed automatic, still highly capable off-road as an automatic.
The interior is a modern take on the 60's and 70's Broncos and the retromod vibe is strong, with a choice of 7 model trims and spec.
You're able to choose hose-down interiors made from marine grade vinyl and removal drain plugs in the floor.
A 12-inch infotainment system is the centrepiece of the dash, bringing mobile phone connectivity and mapping software for the budding adventurer.
We hope Ford bring the bronco to the UK, but in the meantime check out Ford's current range of SUVs.
