The Toyota Highlander is now available in the UK, made possible by using the TNGA-K chassis platform featured on the Camry. The Highlander will be offered in two very well-equipped trim levels at launch: the Excel and Excel Premium, both offered with a 2.5 litre 241bhp petrol-electric four-wheel-drive powertrain. Each axle features an electric motor, with the rear only featuring an electric motor allowing the variable 4-wheel drive.
The Excel trim comes with 20" alloy wheels, JBL sound system, leather seats and three-zone air conditioning, whilst the Excel Premium builds on this by adding panoramic roof, head-up display, heated rear seats, a 360deg camera and remote boot lid actuation.
Practicality wise, there are three rows of seats allowing seating for 7, with the third row folded flat the luggage capacity is 658 litres, expanding to a total of 1,909 litres with both rows folded down. Legroom for 3rd-row passengers can be extended by sliding the second row of seat up to 180mm forwards.
