The BMW i4, a four-door Grand Coupe powered by an all-electric powertrain, drawing its design inspiration from the two concept cars the 'Vision Next 100' and 'I Vision Dynamics' inspired a lot of the cars design language and sculptured lines come from.

The large kidney grille on the front is fully enclosed on the i4, but hold the sensory technology, giving the driver the best driving experience. Flanking the grille is the similarly iconic twin headlight design, this time a slender BMW LED Headlight which can be upgraded to Lazer LED Headlights.

Just like the BMW iX3, the body has numerous accents of 'i blue' throughout, around the badges, along with the side skirts and on the rear diffuser. The i4 rides on bespoke to it 19" Air Performance Alloys with aluminium inlays, reducing air drag and improving the range. Inside the cabin, the performance of the edrive system is mated with a new digital experience from BMW.

The dashboard is orientated towards the driver, who is greeted curved display housing a 12.3" digital drivers display and a 14.9' touchscreen which is powered by iDrive 8, allowing wireless connection to both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with being a touchscreen, iDrive 8 can be controlled by the conventional knob near the gear lever or via gestures.

The sloping silhouette of the i4 does not affect its practicality, the rear has comfortable seating for 3 adults and the electrically operated hatchback-style tailgate allows loading of large items into the boot. The boot capacity is 470 litres with the rear seats in place, when these are folded flat it expands to a whopping 1290 litres which are nearly 3 Series touring capacity level.

The eDrive40 i4 can do 0-62 in 6.0 seconds and is powered by a 340hp rear-wheel driver electric motor, compared to the i4M50 which has twin M edrive motors, capable of 0-62 in 3.9 seconds. No rare earth metals are used in the construction of electric motors, and the production of both the car and the electric motors is done using renewable energy.
