As featured in AutoTrader's Web News and Reviews - Hollywood star Will Ferrell is the world's first person to be handed the keys for a long-term loan of the groundbreaking BMW Hydrogen 7.
The Anchorman and Blades of Glory star was given the BMW as part of the Hydrogen 7 Pioneer Programme - where BMW give industry leaders and prominent entertainers the use of the green machine for daily use. The Beemer uses a 260bhp engine capable of running on hydrogen or petrol. When running on hydrogen the car emits nothing but water vapour, and has a range of 125 miles (or 300 miles on petrol). The green car still offers mean performance with a limited top speed of 143mph. Ferrell won't officially own the car as BMW is only leasing it.
While other celebrities and public figures have driven the Hydrogen 7, the Talladega Nights star is the first person to take the BMW over a long period.
He will instead use it to generate support for hydrogen-powered vehicles as a viable alternative to fossil fuelled cars. A BMW spokesperson said: "The 7 is no longer a concept car, but a production model that has successfully completed the product development process." Just 100 of the luxury saloons will be built initially with six coming to the UK
