A deal has been struck between the two manufacturers Renault and Nissan to produce the world’s first mass-production battery-powered vehicle. It will initially be sold in Israel where charging points are being set up to cope with an estimated sales figure of 20,000 units a year.
The vehicles are proposed to have an urban range of 60 miles and a motorway range of up to 100 miles. The new venture has the potential to attract a whole new array of car leasing customers.
