New government guidelines have recently been released that should benefit both car leasing customers and the environment. The aim is to reduce the amount of time drivers spend stationary and thus, for those without stop-start technology, emit exhaust fumes into the air needlessly.

Local councils will be allowed to use 'green wave' traffic lights with sensors to trigger a green light when faced with slow traffic so also improving journey times as well as cutting emissions.
